Ambre Sultan Edition Zellige
Eau de parfum

Evoking a fragment of amber resin picked up by Serge Lutens during a wander through the souks of Marrakech, which lay forgotten for years inside a thuja wood box, this perfume marks a return to a focus on the identity and authenticity of unique ingredients.
"This fragrance is not an Oriental, but an Arab and a Lutens. That being the case, don't expect it to fit in."This fragrance is not an Oriental, but an Arab and a Lutens. That being the case, don't expect it to fit in. The point of departure was a scented wax, found in a souk and long forgotten in a wooden box. The amber only became sultanesque after I reworked the composition using cistus, an herb that sticks to the fingers like tar, then added an overtone that nobody had ever dreamed of: vanilla. "Serge LutensBefore I discovered Marrakech, I wasn’t interested in fragrance. But if Marrakech had just been a scent, it would have been devoid of meaning, because in Morocco I was going back to my own personal story, the history of my ‘Arablooking’ appearance. I can’t imagine that Morocco would have resonated so strongly if it hadn’t already been within me. Closely intermingling with maâlems, Moroccan master artisans, we let ourselves become enraptured with the arts and crafts and the amazing repertoire that this country, a direct descendent of the Moors, has passed on to us. There, I met artisans who sculpted wood, carved and affixed mosaics. Their hands have memories! Fragrances leave us their trailDressing up three of his iconic fragrances “Ambre sultan”, “La fille de Berlin” and “Fleurs d'oranger” for the 20th anniversary of this brand with its zelligeinspired geometric patterns, Serge Lutens delicately submerges us in his Moroccan universe, the cradle of his perfumery. In his now iconic olfactory creations, the perfumer Serge Lutens has for over 20 years been producing strong alcohols with Proustian accents. From “Féminité du bois”, to “Ambre sultan” and “La fille de Berlin”, each perfume tells their own exceptional story and has their own unique signature.Perhaps even yours?
